Maundy Thursday

Maundy is derived from the Latin mandatum, which means “to command.” The word refers to Jesus’ “New Commandment” to love one another. At the same time we break bread with one another, just as Jesus did with his disciples, and we remember the the cross just as we remember all those who suffer unjustly in our own world today.
