Faith United Church of Christ of Iowa City, IA, declares openly that we will continue to welcome lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and non-binary people into our faith community. Further, we affirm the humanity of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and non-binary people as persons of God, who are deeply valued by the Creator.

As a matter of policy, we welcome all individuals and families, be they single, couple, nuclear, blended, extended, step, and/or same sex as they strive to function faithfully in response to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Christ’s principles of love and justice, grace and mercy. Such faithfulness is a response to God’s Spirit and is guided by responsibility, accountability, trust, and mutual nurturance.
